Made from a humble timber post, Vessel is a work of contrasts, of opposites meeting, a union of complementary forms.

It speaks directly to fertility, to sex, to conception.

The erect, phallic, outwards, and upwards form contains within it, or can be seen as being contained by, the cavernous, receiving, inwards, and downwards.

As above as below, as outwards as within.

The vertical flow of circular textures, can be seen as such, as both the male gametes, that rise in near infinite numbers, or the female macrogametes, which are finite in quantity from birth. One lasts but a moment, the other, decades, an eternity of sorts.
