My work
As an emerging artist, I am passionate about creating thought-provoking artwork that connects with people on a deep level. My sculptures are inspired by organic forms found in nature, and I often use natural materials like wood to create my pieces. What sets my work apart is the use of abstract wood carvings that result in primitive yet modern sculptures. I am particularly interested in exploring the potential of wood as a sculptural medium, and I source unique pieces of timber in my travels over all the ecological regions of the continent.
To achieve the desired effect on the wood, I employ various techniques that include burning, charring, brushing, distressing, oiling, buffing, bleaching, dyeing, and quenching. These techniques add depth, texture, and contrast to the pieces and help to highlight the unique features of each piece of timber. The organic forms of my sculptures are enhanced by the natural beauty of the wood, resulting in pieces that are truly one of a kind.
My sculptures often feature earthy colors that complement the natural wood grain and vibrant hues that add a touch of modernity. Each piece is unique, and I strive to create sculptures that are both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking. My work has been featured in sculpture galleries, outdoor sculpture installations, and public art commissions. My sculptures have also been exhibited in interior design art shows, and I have been commissioned to create site-specific sculptures for private art collections.
My sustainable and contemporary approach to sculpture has gained recognition from art critics, art consultants, and art dealers alike. I believe that art is a valuable investment, and I work closely with art appraisers and art valuers to ensure that each piece of my artwork is accurately valued and acquired by collectors who appreciate unique, fine, and collectible art.
My passion for creating sculptures is deeply rooted in my love for nature, and I hope that my pieces inspire others to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. I believe that art has the power to connect people to nature and to each other, and my sculptures are a testament to that belief.
